Local high schools offer a diverse range of sports programs:
- Dimond High School: Students participate in sports across fall, winter, and spring seasons, including baseball, basketball, football, ice hockey, soccer, tennis, and wrestling for boys; and basketball, flag football, ice hockey, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball for girls. Eligibility requires enrollment in at least five ASD classes and meeting GPA standards.
- Holy Rosary Academy: Offers sports for grades 5-12, including indoor and outdoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. The academy emphasizes the development of student-athletes through physical activities that enhance their overall growth.
- Lumen Christi High School: As a Division 2A school within the Alaska Schools Activities Association (ASAA), Lumen Christi provides opportunities in coed outdoor soccer, girls’ volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, track and cross country, and riflery. The school integrates faith formation into its athletic programs.
Collegiate Sports
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is home to the Seawolves, competing in 13 NCAA sports:
